Waiting for the returning birds. Fly Flatts(permit only)

                                                Tufted duck in with Greylags
                                                         Unwanted visitor, juv Peregrine

                                                          Usual juv Dunlin
                                                      male Ringed Plover

A much healthier, fresher morning up at the reservoir with a brisk SW>3 at 14 degrees and full cloud cover.
Very few waders remaining now with just a single juv Dunlin, 1 male Ringed Plover and 2 juv Redshank. No Common Sandpipers to be found today so it looks like a matter of waiting for returning birds which should be starting any time now.
The Pied Wagtail pair that hatched 5 young but only raised 2 had today started sitting another 3 eggs which was a bit of a surprise though their 2 juvs are now flying well and are self-sufficient.
A single Curlew now remains on site whilst a Short Eared Owl was over the moor and a juv Peregrine flew low over the water, a nice sighting but not one I want to see at Fly Flatts.
A group of 18 Lapwing were on the shore, mostly juvs whilst 16 LBB gulls headed >SE.
