I said I,d be moaning about the weather before the week was out and this morning I was. Terrible conditions with blue sky and sunshine with a calm start creeping up to SW>1. Very hot and sticky at 14 degrees.
Needless to say, the sky was stagnated this morning with no movement at all, whilst the usual waders were just steadily feeding or sleeping on the shore. On a good note, Dunlin were up to 6 which may stay whilst this weather holds.
The Common Sand chick is still around closely guarded by both adults but the Ringed Plover chick has not been seen for 2 weeks now and would have been near to fledging. The long staying pair, from mid February are now going for a second brood but in about the most unsafe area possible so it is unlikely these eggs will even reach the hatching stage.
Two more days of this weather to put up with, though Friday at 26 degrees has a moderate SW blowing, then chance of a wet weekend to liven things up.
