Fly Flatts/ Doe Park, Osprey update.

DOE PARK                                     Distant Buzzard mobbed with Magpie

                                                          and Crow

FLY FLATTS                               1 of 3 Wheatear

Another morning of light drizzle and low cloud at Fly Flatts with full cloud cover on an ESE>3 at 11 degrees. The afternoon session at Doe Park was dry on an ESE>2 still with full cloud.
Very poor vis mig wise for mid September with very little moving and all to the west of me over the western ridge.
New arrivals were 2 Stonechat in the boat compound and 3 Wheatear on the south bank with most of the blogging Mipits moved on.
A check on Doe Park mid afternoon with hopes of a Black Tern, or any Tern come to that ,with the east wind, but that never happened and neither did the Osprey. Plenty to watch throughout the hour I was there but nothing out of the ordinary.
I met local birder Mike Joyce who was hoping for the Osprey so decided to go to Hewenden on the off chance which proved a good move with a phone call later reporting the Osprey looking settled there catching Perch and sitting in a tree.
