                                            1 of 3 male
                                                  Mallard and Wigeon

The sky on fire this evening.

What looked like a better morning at Fly Flatts with milky grey skies and a stronger W>4 at 11 degrees didnt do anything for migrating birds with very quiet skies throughout the watch.
The only movers were Meadow Pipits, Swallows and Wagtails in very small numbers whilst a few passerines were located on the deck.
Just Mallard on the water along with a few Black Headed gulls so a disappointing morning for this time of year.
A vast improvement mid afternoon at Doe Park with a find of 6 Wigeon on the water plus a 7th bird picked up later by MP making 3m and 4f plus 2 Teal which were probably yesterdays birds. A Sparrowhawk was tussling with a Raven over the wood whilst a Buzzard was to the north.
Again,as expected, no sign of the Osprey which seems to spend its afternoons at Hewenden now, which a text confirmed it being there since midday. A young lady present this afternoon told me they had seen the Osprey fishing at Doe Park in the morning which was pleasing as a few days previous when I met them it failed to turn up.
