Wader day at Fly Flatts, 2 early arrivals. (permit only).

 

                                         Distant Merlin and Raven in a tussle .
            Early arrival, Common Sandpiper, 1 week early to this site.

 Another early arrival, centre bird, Dunlin,  2 week early to this site.

A milder day at Fly Flatts and a decrease in wind with a WNW>4 at 3 degrees and bright with 20% cloud and sunshine. A light hail storm did,nt amount to much.
                                    A real wader day today with 2 new early arrivals slipping in overnight with a single Common Sandpiper and 3 Dunlin along with Ringed Plovers, Oystercatcher, Curlew, Snipe, Redshank , Golden Plover and Lapwing, a pleasing 9 species wader count.
                          A group of 15 Herring gulls headed >SW early doors  and 8 Goldies went over high, fast and >NW. The Goldie flock was still in the Nolstar fields but had moved 1 field up remaining throughout the day. Two Grey Partridge were also present in the same field.
