Back to high pressure today once again killing the job. A very calm SE>2 with clear blue skies and sunshine at 6 degrees rising to 12 degrees mid afternoon.
As expected, a very quiet morning with the exception of a second pair of Ringed Plovers on the west bank which stayed for around 15 minutes feeding before they spiralled up very high and away >W. The original pair now spend most of their time walking around the boatyard feeding in the short grass with no signs of attempting to breed.
No gulls today , just Merlin, Redshank, Raven and Red Legged Partridge plus the usual species.
It got worse mid afternoon, after a shopping trip to Brighouse, when I arrived at a very quiet Mixenden reservoir 5 Mallard, 2 Canada geese and a Moorhen on the water whilst a Chiffchaff and a Goldcrest were in the edge of the wood.
On then to Ned Hill track which was void of birds, as was a walk up the Soil hill track as far as the mast. ring on the wind and rain.
