And the fog got thicker, Fly Flatts,( Permit only).
Terrible conditions this morning with thick fog and rain throughout on a NE>3 at 15 degrees. By late afternoon the visibility in Queensbury was down to a few yards so the afternoon watch was abandoned.
A walk on the east bank to the NE corner found the muddy shore alive with passerines but no gulls or waders for as far out as I could see. Wheatears, Reed Buntings, Mipits and a single Skylark were grounded in the fog whilst 2 Willow Warblers were in the boatyard tree.
Otherwise it was down to the last few remaining Canada geese, now down from just over 400 to around 20 and no sign of the Barnacle geese for the last few weeks.
Still dense fog up here so looking grim for the morning with another NE promised.
