Just the 1 Ringed Plover present today
A new arrival of Dunlins
A bitterly cold and wet visit to Fly Flatts with a moderate NW>5 at 3 degrees with 60% cloud and some sunshine. Heavy driving rain showers throughout.
A fresh arrival of Dunlin today with at least 14 present but other wader numbers were down though birds were very hard to find in the wind and showers with several keeping down in the gulleys . Gull wise there were just 8 LBBs and 2 Herrings where Lesser Black Backed are now becoming more popular than Herrings which was the other way round a couple of weeks back.
This time last year I was getting Sanderling and Greenshank whilst an Avocet turned up at TMR,( CK ), though I had to wait until July for my 3 >SW fly overs which ended up at a Manchester reservoir the day after. Its just a matter of wait and see what appears now and at least I,ll be able to give it more time from tomorrow with the revised lock down.
