A cloudy cool morning at Fly Flatts at 6 degrees in full cloud on a W>4. Difficult checking the gulls as I was working against the wind with the birds facing into the wind away from me.
A mass hatchery overnight with Canada and Greylag now with chicks along with more Lapwing chicks. Nothing unusual on the wader front other than another 3 Ringed Plover have appeared along with more Common Sandpiper but some of the Dunlin have moved on.
Several Swallows were moving through >N along with a single House Martin but no May day Swift.
A few less Herrings today but LBBs were up to 9 all on the peninsular licking their lips as the Canadas and Greylags seemed to get a buzz out of parading their young on the water close to them.
Hopefully as we creep into May we,ll get a varied supply of waders moving through.
Nothing in the Nolstar fields as I passed there and back but it could do with some afternoon checking.
