The Barnacle goose moves position
Few more gulls in today
1 of 4 Ringed Plover
1 of 15 Common Sandpipers.
Another dreary hot morning with wall to wall sunshine on a light E>3 stagnating all the birds which were mostly settled with head in wing and reluctant to move.
A better forecast for tomorrow with a strong north westerly and down to 7 degrees.
A false alarm on the Barnacle goose after 2 days of sitting in a hollow on the island today it had moved position to the south bank where it sat all morning motionless. I,m wondering now if there,s something wrong with this bird but I,ll keep my eye on it.
Just the usual waders present but hard to get an accurate count on them with possibly some resting out of sight.
Common Sandpipers were the only mobile birds with at least 15 showing.
A few more gulls present today out on the peninsular but only seemed interested in preening in the waters edge whilst 2 Wheatear were near the boatyard. Plenty Swallows over but no Swifts today.
