Dunlin Ringed Plover.
A much livelier morning at Fly Flatts with a SE>3 at 7 degrees and 30% cloud cover.
A good show of waders today , possibly due to the absence of big gulls with only 4 present and a few fly overs. The small waders were well scattered around the shoreline and ponds and took some sorting out with the east water line a good distance away plus the fact that it drops down to the water so birds on the waters edge can be hidden from view.
A fresh batch of Dunlin had arrived along with 2 more Ringed Plovers and a good count of Common Sandpipers.
The top field held 4 Wheatear at last along with at least 3 Snipe chipping but remained out of sight whilst more Canada goslings are appearing daily.
A hectic and pleasing morning with things starting to buck up and expecting Little Ringed Plover and Sanderling next.
Good to see DP up there this morning giving it the once over.
