APOLOGIES FOR NO BLOG LAST NIGHT DUE TO POWER CUT.
The electric was off all evening as I started preparing the blog but .me, in my infinite wisdom thought thats no problem as the laptop can be used on its battery. I typed the report up but couldnt understand why it wouldnt go on line until I decided to send an e mail from my phone to the blog explaining. What did I find, no internet as it works off electric (numbski).
Old Guy Road 1 of 3 Pied Wagtails
Starling still in winter plumage
Starling getting into summer plumage.
A good year for Skylark
Unusual to get Canadas on Roper Lane.
A carbon copy of yesterdays weather with blue skies and sunshine on a cold E>5 . The east wind looks like being with us till the weekend, what a shame its not autumn when we pray for easterlies.
At last, a single Wheatear for Roper Lane with the cold winds holding them back as the Old Guy Rd cricket pitch and through into Roper Lane holds several by this time.
This bird was in CKs Ring Ouzel field and did just the same as the Ouzel did whilst being watched by Chris by disappearing over the top ridge not to be re located.
A couple of Swallows over was nice with another over Oats Royd later.
Nothing else unusual apart from 6 Canada geese on a muck pile on Roper Lane which is unusual and may have come from the Bradshaw pond.
Another check on Oats Royd just provided another empty camera with several Willow Warblers and Chiffchaff giving 3 second views as they darted through the leaves from tree to tree. This is definitely not my sort of birding , scouring through trees full of leaves in hopes of a L.B.J. Give me the moors and open spaces anytime.
