More Ring Ouzels I,m afraid.
Heron getting mobbed by gulls
Another cracking day of good weather at Fly Flatts, though not the weather I,d order, with sunshine and clear skies on a brisk SE>4 at 8 degrees.
An uneventful day wader wise but the 2 Ring Ouzels kept the interest going with both birds giving good views, both morning and afternoon, showing well in the boatyard to the pleasure of the watchers on the top road. Good to see CK and VJ up there and have a quick word with on the Ring Ouzel hotline, both going away happy after getting good views of both birds.
I had,nt meant to take any more Ouzel photos today but with little else happening and Vicki refusing to get out of the car I was just left with the Ring Ouzels.
Just 2 Oystercatchers on the shore beside the usuals whilst a Heron came in to land heavily mobbed by gulls that seemed to appear from nowhere.
By late afternoon Fly Flatts top road looked like Blackpool promenade on a wakes weekend with around 30 cars and shoals of people walking along the road though they seem to have missed the point of self isolating walking in big family groups. On the way home was the same with people walking making it look like Boxing day when people get out and walk once a year. There should be some fitter people around when this virus job is over unless it rains which will soon stop the walking.
Hopefully I,ll get a wader or two this next week as Im getting a bit bored with Ring Ouzels now, something I thought I,d never say, and most local birders have seen them by now.
