Fly Flatts p.m. ( No public access.)

Lapwings regular in the ponds now.

                                        Herring gulls >SW

A wasted morning waiting for a kitchen appliance to be delivered between 0700 and 1100 hrs so up at 0600 hrs ready and waiting , and waiting, and waiting then it finally arrived at 1100 hrs and I still had to fit it so no birding this morning, a bit of snow shoveling kept me occupied.
By late p.m. at Fly Flatts the wind had increased to gale force SW>8 blowing at 41 m.p.h with some light rain showers along with a quick hail storm but this mornings snow had mostly thawed.
Despite the strong wind the skies were lively with a steady flow of Herring gulls >SW into the wind whilst a single Greylag went over high and >NW. Just Canadas and Mallards on the water with Lapwings scattered around the SE ponds.
The Blackbird was still around the boatyard but very flighty and 2 Raven and Carrion crows were overhead.
Some poor little new born lambs above the reservoir having to start off their life battling the elements.
