Plenty gulls to sift through at the Tarn today
Redcar Tarn this morning was wet to say the least with heavy to torrential rain throughout on a SW>5 but good visibility at 5 degrees. My first good soaking this year.
Only a handful of Herrings this morning but plenty small gulls and all the usual species on the water. Good to meet MD who was up there in his car but only managed a chat on the phone as he was at the other side of the water looking at a suspect Caspian gull at the time.
I have,nt seen Mark since our vis mig days at TMR many years ago.
By late afternoon there were around 40 Herring gulls present but the place was very busy and tons of disturbance with the rain stopped and some sunshine.
My yesterdays visit to this site produced two Caspian gulls, these were also seen by KM earlier in the day which was the purpose of my visits today to get some better photos as yesterday the pics were taken hand held in a howling gale but of course the birds were,nt present today.
Yesterdays pics.

Thanks to KM for all his help with these birds.
