At last a clear morning with decent conditions, SE>2 , 10 degrees and 5/8 okts. Fog in valleys.
Finally got to do a mornings vis mig at Fly Flatts but thick fog by mid afternoon so confined to Ogden for the second session.
Pink Footed Geese were the bird of the morning with 6 skeins passing through although some were at mega distance beyond the western ridge. A total of 436 counted so no massive skeins but nice to see. Twelve species were counted on vis mig along with 4 Stonechat present.
By late afternoon Fly Flatts was fogged off so back to Ogden which was dark and murky but reasonably quiet from the public.
No more geese on the move but plenty gulls on the water with 26 Black Headed, 8 Common, 2 Herring and 5 LBBs. A large flock of around 80 birds were moving around trees at the waters edge along the east bank, mainly Goldfinch but all 4 common tit species as well as several Chaffinch. Well worth a sift through for a Yellow Browed if anyone has the time and patience. A Willow Warbler was in one of the car park trees.
