2 of 10 north bank Wheatear
All todays Alba Wag sightings were juvs.
Alive with Meadow Pipits.
Perfect conditions this morning with good visibility, 6/8 light cloud cover on a NE>3 at 10 degrees.
Its amazing at this time of year, with 2 islands and acres of mud, there was again not a single wader to be found. The shorelines were quiet until 0845 hrs when Mipits started piling over along with several Alba Wagtails but after 15 minutes the rush had stopped.
Back at the south shore the mud was alive with birds that had come down busily feeding before several moved off again. All the Alba Wags were juveniles.
Several, new in, Wheatear were around the north banking whilst the 4 drake Tufted were still on the water.
