Fly Flatts and the 2019 16th wader species appears .

but taken from the south to the NE shore.

A real mixed bag of weather today starting off with early morning drizzle then sunshine whilst this afternoon threw in some very heavy rain showers on a moderate W>5. Visibility was good.
                                                         A good scope around first thing this morning found 7 Wheatear on the east bank, but no sign of waders, with 2 more Wheatear in the SW corner late afternoon, possibly 2 of the same birds. Very little sky movement other than a very high moving Buzzard and 2 Raven. By late afternoon Swifts were moving through in between the rain showers.
                                                       At  the end of the morning watch I was tackling up and , as always,  had a final scope round the shoreline when I picked up a small wader way over on the NE banking whereas I was on the south bank. Getting the scope behind the car and out of the wind I could see it was an adult Turnstone working its way on the waters edge.
                                                     With no time to pursue it I left, hoping it would still be around p.m. which unfortunately it was,nt.
