Redshank on the Raggalds Flood
Early doors at Ogden luckily just as the heavy overnight rain had moved east so a bright morning with some sunshine but a very strong WNW>7.
Plenty gull activity today with gulls in and out throughout the watch with several stopping off on the water but very hard to sift through with the high waves and all the birds facing away from me into the wind. A single Herring gull and 3 LBBs were the only big gulls , the rest being mainly Commons.
Just the usual pair of Goosanders present on the water and no sign of yesterdays male Goldeneye. A Sparrowhawk flew low over the water and into the wood.
On the way home a check of the Raggalds Flood found the single Redshank along with a pair of Mallard and 2 Pied Wagtails.
