Hardy Oystercatchers over by the peninsular
Seemed unfazed by the strong wind and waves.
Female Red Grouse on walk about.
1445 hrs at Fly Flatts with a howling SW>5 inc SW6 with dark clouds and specs of rain.
With the SW wind back the sky was quiet and wind surfers were on the water which just left me with a walk on the west bank to check the shoreline.
A few Mallards and Canadas were sheltering in the reeds on the east bank whilst 2 Oystercatchers were stood in the edge of the water near the east side peninsular ignoring the crashing waves around them and the strong wind standing there for over 30 minutes before heading off >S to roost, probably at Cold Edge.I suppose Fly Flatts reminds them of the North sea but a bit rougher.
Otherwise it was down to Red Grouse and Curlews , both very vocal on the moor.
