Fly Flatts p.m. visit.

                                                  1 of 3 distant Buzzards.

The spring like morning at Fly Flatts was very short lived with a strong W>5 and very icy cold at 2 degrees with cloud over the western ridge, otherwise 40 % cloud and blue sky.
On the way up there 3 Buzzards were up over Cold Edge road briefly before dropping into the valley. This mornings Canadas had left the reservoir probably dropping down to Cold Edge for shelter leaving just a few Mallard on the water.
Another Pink Footed goose , after 3 this morning, also heading >NW following the ridge before quickly disappearing into the cloud making it look like there are probably just the stragglers left to go now. The usual last 30 minutes sky watching failed to produce a single gull.
Every day now is a day nearer to blast off when the birding world kicks into gear and we can get back to some serious birding.
