1 of 2 Stonechat by the lagoon
Return of Barney. Not the yellow leg ringed bird
The larger of the two.
Red Grouse on walk about
Canadas pairing up on the moor.
Fly Flatts at 1445 hrs in terrible conditions with a strong SW>6 and several torrential horizontal rain showers.
A pair of Stonechats were by the lagoon as I arrived but very flighty and disappeared after the first heavy shower. Seven Canadas were in the boat yard along with a single Barnacle goose which was the larger of the 3 that were present in 2017 and looked like the one that hung around last year with the smaller yellow leg ringed bird having a distinctive face shape which always looked chubbier cheeked than the other two. I don,t think that chubbier cheeked is true birding lingo but you,ll see what I mean from the photo.
The Barnacle left with 3 Canadas towards Cold Edge during a particularly heavy downpour but returned 15 minutes later on its own landing at the north end of the water.
