Ogden 0830-1030 hrs . Heavy rain and very dark clouds throughout.
Signs of movement. 1 m 3 f Tufted
Not common visitors to Ogden
1 of 4 Treecreepers in the dark wood
Taken at 10,000 iso
With gale force winds and heavy rain I dropped down to Ogden where the promenade was blustery but sheltered along the west bank though the rain never eased throughout.
Some signs of movement with 3f and 1m Tufted on the water, a bit of an uncommon visitor for here, otherwise just a few small gulls present and the usual Mallards.
The west bank Alders were alive with activity though very dark and not easy to work. A Tit flock of around 30 were sticking low down near the base of the trees with Blue, Great, Coal and Long Tailed. At least 4 Treecreepers, 7 Goldcrests and 2 Siskin were present but no sign of Redpoll. All the Goldcrest were carefully checked for Firecrest but no such luck for this mega rare species for our area with the last one reported by DF here at Ogden 2/11/13.
