More fog for Fly Flatts.

Mega distant SEO in the mist

A shot in the dark  SEO in near dark

Taken at distance last light 600mm 340 shutter speed 16000 ISO.

First day of retirement and a busy day throughout. Thick fog and rain early am so just a dog walk and some jobs at home till late morning with a hospital appointment for Lynda which took 2 hours for her to be seen but worth the wait. 5 years on from her mouth cancer op she was given the all clear again but still has to go every 6 months because of the size of the op. A long hard 5 years for her, especially this time of year when she can,t eat any of the food on display for Christmas. I join her as I wouldnt feel right tucking in so it does my waist line good too.
1430 hrs and up to Soil Hill in the thick fog but a good westerly wind blowing which is always a favourite for this location.
My main aim was to check the west bank so the lack of visibility didnt bother me too much although half way on the west banking and the fog amazingly lifted just leaving a few fog banks around.
Just Mallards on the water but several birds up in the westerlies with 2 distant Short Eared Owls far to the north of the water, up to 5 Kestrel, 4 Raven and a noisy Buzzard all at distance to the east of my position.
Exactly the same as last night, just as I was leaving in near darkness, a third SEO was quartering the distant moor and once again the mist was rolling back in bringing heavy drizzle.
For the first time in 53 years theres no Saturday morning work so owt could happen, watch this space.
