Off roaders appear north shore
Shame they didnt think about the dangers of the mud
for their kids
This fruitcake tried to get down and drive across the mud
Half an hour later they managed to winch him out
and they moved on.
A head appears over the banking
juv Heron. An unusual species for Fly Flatts other than
frog spawning season.
A mishmash of weather this p.m. starting off very windy and damp then a sudden drop in wind and blue skies and sunshine for the second half.
No reappearance of the Mallards or Pintail with just 9 Teal on the water and a distant Ringed Plover below the vertical fence. 3 Buzzard were in the air over tattie pie Hill and a 360 deg scan through the bins produced 9 Kestrel in the air together
A few LBB gulls headed >NW whilst a group of 15 Jackdaws >W was unusual for this area.
Back at the car whilst I was sky watching Pippa kept looking behind me and barking and every time I turned around there was nothing there until I suddenly saw a Herons head appear out of a ditch at the side of the track. It casually strolled out ignoring me and flew over the fence into the field.
The only herons I ever see up there are on the moor when the frogs arrive to spawn.
Gale force winds from the >SW forecast for Tuesday so that could prove interesting.
