1515 hrs at Fly Flatts with a mixture of sunshine and dark clouds with occasional drizzle on a near gale SW>7 at 31 m.p.h.
Yet another very quiet visit with just the return of 41 Mallard but scoping through them from the east shore found no Teal or Pintail.
A few Black Headed gulls headed >NW whilst 6 Kestrels were in the air not seeming to bother about the strong wind.
Re yesterdays blog, as expected the juv Heron never made it through the night and was found dead by the workmen this morning. Thanks to Judy Hogg ( swan rescue ) for attending but unfortunately too late to save the bird which on her examination had been suffering for some time and was desperately thin.
More gale force winds tomorrow then wall to wall waders on Thursday !!!!
No vis mig this morning with low cloud and rain.
