Good conditions with 100% cloud cover and a moderate W>4 feeling very cool and damp with light mist patches over the moor.
Another day and another newcomer wader with a Redshank on the south shoreline where all the action seemed to be today. Most of the remaining Canada geese were on the southern islands as well as 6 Teal which were very flight but always returning to the same area.
A walk on to the NW corner produced very little with the north shore deserted and the east shore just holding several Lapwings and Black Headed gulls along with 2 ad LBBs and 1 juv Herring.
Kestrels were hovering along the west bank with 4 present whilst a count of 14 Wheatear was pleasing. Several were on the Robin Rock whilst others were around the beach area in the SE corner but unfortunately I,d just time for some quick photos of the Redshank before the fog rolled in thick and fast so it was up stumps and head back to base.
Good to hear JM and AC gave the area a coat of looking at this morning.
