Sticking my neck out.

This gull that has appeared 3 times now at Fly Flatts but always way across on the east banking or waters edge across the other side not allowing me to get any sharp photos given the distance and heat shimmer distorting all photos. Its one of those birds that stands out as not being right for a Herring gull with the markings of a 2 cy bird but a dark bill and pure white head and very pale wings and mantle.
With risk of being shot down with my resident critics I,m saying that this bird is worth a check for Caspian gull which usually show late summer onwards but non breeders have been seen in England throughout the breeding season.
Hopefully the bird will show again so I can get more on it, preferably without the blazing sun.

                                         Dark Bill, Bullet hole eye.

                                            Long narrow face.
