Fly Flatts in the snow

                                        Icy roads
                                           Snowy moor
                                Impassable track

                                  Short lived sunshine

                                         Snowy Nab
The sun was soon blanked out

Bad news for the feeding station.

0800 hrs at Fly Flatts at first light in -1 deg on a SE>4 with the sun struggling to break through briefly but soon getting blanked out with cloud. The road was sheet ice and the track snow bound so had to leave the car at the top and go on foot the rest of the way with a good 4" of snow.
After all that it was a pleasant walk along the west banking with plenty noise from the 18 Canadas on the water along with a good count of 43 Mallard.
A Dipper which flew down the overflow was unusual although I have had one before in the past whilst several Carrion Crows and a single Kestrel were over the quarry area.
Good skies for moving Pinkies but nothing showing as yet with just a few Herring gulls >W.
