When driving past Fly Flatts watch for bends, not birds.

Dense fog to start the day with Fly Flatts blanked out so down to Leeshaw which was dull and drizzly but starting to clear by 0730 hrs. Conditions were then perfect with 100 % cloud cover and a SW>4 which got the birds moving.
Several Mipits were ground hopping through until the conditions improved and then the flood gates opened with birds piling through until around 0900 hrs when it dropped to a trickle. Swallows were in good numbers and a good west movement of finches and other species. By 0930 hrs all was quiet other than Swallows still on the move but in slow migration mode feeding on route.
Back over the tops to check Fly Flatts found it still blanked out in fog and unable to see the water.
