0700 hrs and a check on the Ned Hill Black Redstart but nothing to be found. A second check on the way back from Fly Flatts proved the same.
Fly Flatts was buzzing with Curlew, Lapwing , Golden Plover and Snipe but Goldies now down in numbers and sticking to the moor with no aerobatic displays.
A Barnacle was on the water along with Canadas and Mallards whilst 2 Oystercatchers and a single Redshank were on the shore. By next weekend we should have the first Common Sandpiper back.
A poor turn out of Wheatear so far with just 7 counted throughout the area and a strange find with a Green Woodpecker calling on the rocks in the SW corner.
Still no sign of Swallows through.
