A re run of yesterday with 1500 hrs arrival at Ogden on a very dull and dark afternoon.
Much quieter than yesterday passerine wise around the perimeter with just a few Great and Blue Tits and a count of 16 Robins, several of which were continentals being slim ,orange breasted and very nervy birds.
No Kingfisher sightings today and no sign of yesterdays Long Tailed Tits.
A new arrival to the water was a stonking plumaged male Tufted duck but otherwise the usual small gulls, 6 Canadas and Mallards whilst several Herring gulls passed overhead all >SW.
Not a Brambling to be found until 1545 hrs when little flocks started filtering in congregating in the Nuthatch tree. Some came from the Giants Tooth direction whilst others came from the direction of Soil Hll, perhaps some of Denises birds but by this time it was as black as night and several of the Brambling dropped straight down into the rhododendrons to roost leaving a count of around 15 and no chance of photos in the dark conditions.
Good to bump into DW who was also on Brambling watch before heading off to Syke Lane in search of Fieldfare.
