Red Sky at Night, Birders Delight ?
Skies over Foxhill this tea time.
Soil Hill 1430 - 1530 hrs Grey cloud with a NNW>4-5
Much quieter on the hill today with no Lapwing flock on the Shay and no sign of the Fieldfares.
A good search of the two summits, track and mounds produced 4 Meadow Pipit, 2 Stock doves and 1 Woodpigeon other than corvids and Magpies.
Two geese flew past the Fly flatts wind farm but had the outline and jizz of Canadas.
Highlight of the watch was 18 Redwing dropping into the tree line to roost at last light.
Must make time over Christmas to check the tree line which I have,nt had chance to do for a while. With the number of Alders down there theres a good chance on Brambling and Siskin. Dont know if any of the other watchers check down the north slope?
Coming over Burdock Way early afternoon there were several Redwings in the roundabout trees.
