Early Morning Ogden

What looked like a good morning weather wise turned out to be a bit of a damp squib with very little in the way of movement over Queensbury and Ogden. After a bit of Queensbury sky watching with just a scattering of Mipits and 15 Redwing it was off to Ogden arriving at 0700 hrs before the crowds moved in.
Two circuits of the water plus a lot of standing and waiting produced low numbers of birds with no established flocks around.
Chaffinch was the dominant bird with only about 20 counted but 3 Brambling flying from trees near the info centre was nice but not to be re located.
Just the 1 Goldcrest , the rest being Dunnocks, Robins and Wrens whilst 8 Corvids mobbed a Sparrowhawk over the plantation.
A final sky watch on the prom, whilst talking to DP , just produced 7 Greylag in to land on the water which is unusual for Ogden whilst 2 male Wigeon flew high and >NE over the plantation.
As I got back to the car park at 0930 hrs it was beginning to look like Wakes weekend at Blackpool with cars swarming in so I made a hasty retreat making a note of not to return here until the peace and quiet of Monday.
