Ogden p.m. visit

Amazing how one day the water is full of recordable wildfowl and the next day they are gone.
Lucky that NK picked them up otherwise they would have gone through undetected, one good reason why we need more active birders in the area.
Today the water just held 3 Cormorant, around 80 mixed gulls and 2 Little Grebe.
A good search around passerine alley for DJSs tit flock found nothing so as a last resort I walked around to the western side to check the Alders and there they were, a flock of around 40 birds but very mobile moving north along the trees on the waters edge. No chance of photos at the speed they were moving and dark conditions under the canopy.
The birds comprised of at least 5 Siskin, 4 Goldcrests, 2 Willow Warblers and a host of Blue, Great, Long Tailed and Coal tits.
So once again Ogden proved its worth for autumn.
