Dinnertime Dailies Dash

Yet another mixed bag day with heavy snow this morning, which gave quite a covering, but soon melted in between the showers, whilst a strong W>5 was blowing.
A quick lunch time dash to the top of the Dailies scanning to the east produced a steady flow of big gulls in the distance over the Baildon area all heading >N up the Aire valley along with 4 Greylag geese in the same direction.
A few Redwing were down in the station Hawthorn bushes but no Fieldfare which seem in short supply this winter. At least 7 Mistle Thrush were near the tunnel top and a pair of Bullfinch gave a fleeting glimpse.
Otherwise very quiet around the village and on the grapevine but at least no dousing today .
Just when you thought your day could,nt get any worse the daughter rang up this evening to say she,d just put £30 of petrol in her car which is,nt normally a problem unless, like hers, your car is a diesel and is now stuck in Sowerby Bridge.
Oh well, it stops life getting boring.!
