A wintry walk to work this morning
Chapel Lane
Sunrise beyond Black Dyke Mills
Colditz castle
Bright skies over Foxhill midday.
A wintry start with a few snow showers throughout the day but not amounting to anything.
By lunch time the sky was blue with good visibility to the west but low cloud to the east.
Several small gulls were circling high up in the clear sky with a good move of Common gulls >W.
Starlings were the bird of the day with an influx of large flocks moving around the village attacking gardens with feeders out. The majority of these birds will be continentals moved in for the winter.
A Wren was carrying nest material behind the garage and disappearing into the old dry stone wall, a regular breeding place for it in the past.
Just the one report at work today of a Buzzard drifting high over Clayton village moving >E.
Ollie got the all clear at the vets tonight so that's another disaster averted.
