Queensbury , Red sunrise followed by a grey day.

Bright red sunrise this morning after a night
                 of heavy frost.
                                  Magpie waiting for sun up

          Midday, Foxhill Common gulls

Hoards of Starlings around the village.

A bright red sunrise this morning after a night of sub zero temperatures leaving everything shrouded in a thick white crust of frost.
Before the sun had chance to show, a cloud of haze moved in and remained all day leaving a grey dull and cold atmosphere until 1500 hrs when the temperature began to rise bringing heavy rain.
A slight early morning move of LBB gulls all >SW lasted until 0900 hrs but otherwise it was down to local species.
Starlings are everywhere at the moment with large flocks annihilating local feeding stations as they move around from garden to garden.
The Foxhill winter flock of Common gulls has this year failed to materialize with only around a dozen compared to 70 + being normal at this time of year.
