Ogden in the snow

                                       Dodgy roads
0800hrs, The only time the car park
                                       is quiet

                        Passerine Alley

With thick fog and bad road conditions up here in the gods it was down to Ogden which was bright and clear with plenty snow down.
The Kingfisher made 2 brief appearances before flying off downstream and otherwise it was amazingly quiet.
A full circuit of the water produced 2 Blackbird, 4 Robins and a Dunnock whilst the water held the usual small gulls and Mallards. Great Tits and Blue Tits were on the feeders and 6 Lapwing flew overhead >SW.
A check of the Raggalds area fields found the Lapwing flock of 83 on the Pit Lane football pitch but no Goldies present.

Ogden has had the worst autumn/ winter period for as far back as I can remember and for some reason is attracting large numbers of the public making weekend birding there impossible apart from early morning. When I left at 1000 hrs this morning it took me 20 minutes to get out with once again gridlock conditions and cars queueing down the main road to get in.
