Yellow Browed Warblers hit West Yorkshire and NW winds should bring in the Thrushes

A much more seasonable day today with rain brought in on a W>5 with 100% cloud cover most of the day, this is the stuff we,re looking for.
The village is awash with Starlings at the moment with flocks of 50 to 80 moving around feeding areas, several grouping ready to move whilst some are possibly fresh in northern birds.
Tit flocks are building around the Foxhill area whilst Common gulls are up to a count of 74 in the park first light. Unfortunately no chance of pre work vis mig now as dark until 0700hrs.

A great report from Shaun Radcliffe , B.O.G. today of a Yellow Browed Warbler on their Stockbridge reserve at Keighley, ( members only ). Well spotted to Shaun and thanks for the e mail, there,s got to be others around our area, check out all those tit flocks.
If I did,nt have to work I,d be spending my time at Ogdens passerine alley these next few days.

A good NW>5 blowing tonight which should start to bring the winter thrushes in by morning. Tried listening during dog walking after dark this evening for contact calls but could,nt hear anything for the wind.
