Fly Flatts

Fly Flatts first light and already the sun sticking its nose in

                                        Here comes the blue sky

Sunshine, blue sky and still water, just what I didnt want
             Still some Wheatear hanging around

                     Distant Raven
Peregrine low over the far banking.

A disappointing morning with the grey skies promised never materializing , instead hot sunshine, clear blue skies and dead calm, slight SW>2.
Midges and flys were out in swarms stopping vis mig dead with Meadow Pipits and Swallows making the best of it.
Only signs of movement was a few Mipits and Swallows >SE otherwise it was poor.
Just 2 Canadas on the water with 5 BHgulls and 2 LBB gulls whilst 4 separate Raven headed >W and 1 Peregrine skimmed the water and over the banking.. 5 Wheatear were present.

A drive on to put seed down where several Mipits were interested in the area , then on to Paul Clough to see if any migrants were moving.
So, a walk all around the reservoir, a check on the top road and Paul Clough and back cutting the privets for 0900 hrs, thats how good the birding was.
