Queensbury Today

A warm muggy day with a bit of damping over lunch time.
Several flocks of Goldfinch inc juvs are around the village now as the breeding season draws near to a close with most young birds now flying. The noisy brown Starlings have now moved on away from Foxhill along with the juv Blackbirds.
Gillian informed me today that the Wrens that were nesting in a hanging basket in her Shelf Moor garden have been successful and several young have flown and moved on with the adult birds. A real achievement there for you Gillian you can get on with your gardening now.
LBB gulls are becoming a common sight now with several over today soaring very high on the thermals, whilst 2 Black Headed went >NW over Foxhill at lunch time.
A report today of a Woodcock near the Queensbury station tunnel entrance.
