Foxhill Gulls

                                  1st Winter  Common Gull
1st winter Common and late 1st winter Black Headed
                                      Adult winter Common

                                                    Cold feet

Good to get some soft ground at last

With a steady thaw from late morning the small gulls moved back into Foxhill park and by midday there were 31 Commons and 18 Black Headed probing in the soft earth which has been frozen solid for over a week now.
Black Headed gull numbers are increasing with a flock of around 40 now moving round the village after food.
Common gull numbers remain low with a peak of 76 in the park at this time in previous years but its getting late now and they,ll soon be on the move to breeding grounds.
Several Black Headed are starting to show hoods whilst some Commons are starting to loose their winter head speckles..
Fog and drizzle by late afternoon which should make short work of shifting the snow.
