Lapwing flock 2 fields away
A last light check on Shelf Moor trailer park field found the field itself deserted but the winter Lapwing flock up at 74 two fields away by the farm. As the Lapwings slowly started to disperse for the night and head off >W a single Golden Plover came up out of the field and flew off with them.
Other birds present were c150 Starling , a few small gulls and the usual Jackdaws.
Whilst I was watching the area 3 Snipe dropped into the juncus field but I did,nt go down the track so as not to disturb the roost.
Two Mistle Thrush were in the car boot field as well as 4 Pied Wagtails.
Water is again starting to collect on the Raggalds Flood so hopefully we,ll keep some over the winter inviting some form of wildfowl.
When we were route from Halifax to Coley garden centre this afternoon a Buzzard was over Godley Bridge heading >S.
