Soil Hill

Not easy to find a Grasshopper Warbler out of cover

                       Very vocal Whitethroats

                           Plenty Linnets about
                                   Camera shy male Linnet

                                          Lapwing warning me off
                              1 of 3 Curlew

A very productive late afternoon visit to Soil Hill and picked up all my target birds plus an unusual chance to photograph a Gropper, my first time ever.
Apart from the photographed birds a Sedge Warbler was creating near the NK pond but only allowing a few teasing glimpses whilst a Ring Ouzel shot out of the new plantation and disappeared over the hill towards the quarry works. It was camera or bins so I opted for bins to make sure it was,nt a Blackbird just having enough time to see it was a male Ouzel.
