Water rapidly receding at the flood, thanks farmer!
Distant Flood Wheatears
Views from Harp Lane, Foxhill. Menwith Hill beyond Shipley Glen
Yeadon airport beyond Listers Mill
Looking down on Thornton church.
Ingleborough through the distant mist.
Water was well down at the Raggalds Flood this lunch time showing that the farmer had done a thorough drainage job last autumn.
1m and 3 f Wheatears were present along with 15 Carrion Crows and several Swallow feeding off the water. Some were perched on the barbed wire fences.
A dog walk down Harp Lane this evening produced Chaffinch, Greenfinch, Robin, Dunnock, Goldfinch, Swallow, as well as several Swifts heading >N up the Aire Valley.
Crippling clear views across the valley in the clear blue skies, just one advantage of living on the top of the hill.
On a clear evening with no coastal mist the Humber Bridge can be seen clearly from Foxhill as well as York Minster, Malham Cove and the North Yorkshire white horse.
