A bright but breezy day with a strong S>5 warmish wind blowing.
A great report today from Dave Pinder of 2 Wheatears on Soil Hill in the fields near the trig point. A nice early date for the hill to get March birds although one was reported in Calderdale on the 15th March in 2012.
My first last year was in early April.
A midday hospital visit today so a quick dash after work to the Raggalds Flood showing a slight amount of water and holding 2 Pied Wagtails, 2 Lapwing and a few corvids.
Roper Lane watch point had quiet skies with 15 Canada Geese on the Bradshaw pond and several pre roost Jackdaws congregating in the fields.
Unusually 3 Canada geese flew >N over the back garden at 0600hrs this morning.
Leeds late afternoon tomorrow so a rush hour return. First Radiation today for Lynda who said it was unpleasant but handled it well, 1 down 32 to go.
