Queensbury Woodpigs, How they came !

This is how the morning started
Over they came in their hundreds

Hard to see but over 400 Woodpigs in this flock over the coop
Hard to capture as if you zoom in you cut down the flock.

More Woodpigs in 1 hour than I,ve ever seen

A bright sunrise leading to clear blue skies until mid morning then cloud the rest of the day.
A spectacular hour from 0730-0830hrs with Woodpigeons coming over Queensbury >S in their hundreds.
One flock alone held over 400 birds overhead as I came out of the coop on the way to work. So amazing was the sight that people were stood looking up at them in the village and I was running round like a headless chicken with the camera.
Flock after flock piled over until 0830hrs when it was reduced to a trickle before stopping completely.
Loads were missed being at work but I must have had over 2000 Woodpigeons in the hour. BOG birder MP had over 11,000 from his watch point at Caldene Fields, Bradford and Ive yet to hear the report from Oxenhope as HC text me to say he was also getting them.
Lunch time in Foxhill park was poor apart from one flock of relocating Fieldfares over containing around 30 birds.
