Fog , Starlings and Speckled Jackdaws.

Queensbury rarety, Lesser Speckled Jackdaw !
Actually a common Jackdaw with a touch of Leucism

                                          Foxhill Common Gulls

A poor start to the morning up here on the top of the world with Queensbury above the low cloud base and fogged out not clearing until 1030hrs when most of the morning birding activities are over.
Starlings continued to move >NW throughout the day but in much lower numbers than yesterday with the largest squadron seen containing around 40 birds.
A strange bird caught my eye on a house roof when I was walking home up Chapel Lane at lunch time which turned out to be a Jackdaw with a good speckling of white in its plumage. Luckily it spent time drinking out of the troffin giving me chance for a few shots before it moved on.
Although visibility was good up Foxhill park midday the skies were empty with just half a dozen Common gulls on the football pitch.
No news on the Mixy Common Scoter today, will have to get my spys out tomorrow to let me know if its still around as we near the weekend.
