A bank of drizzly fog hung over Fly Flatts for about the fifth week running despite the strong wind so it was back down to Ogden.
A poor morning remaining near dark until after 8 then very dull poor light hence no decent photos.
The skies were quiet apart from several Redwing flocks which were blogging around the tree tops along with one or two Fieldfare.
The water held 3 LBBs, 1 Little Grebe and a single Cormorant along with the usual Mallards.
Good numbers of passerines were moving around the water edges, these being mainly Long Tailed Tits with flocks of up to 30 at a time. Coal,Great and Blue tits were in the Willows but only found 2 Goldcrests and a single Chiffchaff.
Blackbird numbers are up with probably some continentals in and a few Robins were in full song although these looked like resident birds and not continentals.
Came across an interesting female species in Passerine alley which was identified as Denise (DS) as she was searching through the Willows in hope of a Yellow Browed. Nice , as always, to see you Denise and enjoyed our talk putting the world to rights.
